Esta adaptación está interpretada por tres bailarines, quienes de forma consecutiva dan vida a los doce personajes del relato, aunando las cualidades técnicas con la interpretativas para transmitir a un tiempo la belleza de la danza y la narración de la historia. El espectáculo se divide en cuatro escenas, las estaciones del año; del verano a la primavera.
La primera escena, con un estilo contemporáneo, se decanta por el aspecto cómico de la situación del nacimiento y facilita así, desde lo emocional, la conexión del público infantil con el personaje. La segunda y tercera escenas desgranan la trama del cuento a través del contrapunto esperanza y fracaso. El final feliz se desarrolla en un crescendo musical que resalta la dicha de un patito Madden cisne, en el estilo más clásico. La música está especial mente compuesta para la obra, representando un soporte rítmico y expresivo fundamental para el desarrollo de cada escena. Rafael Cañete es un joven compositor cordobés –autor también de la música del primer espectáculo de la compañía, “La Ratita Presumido”- que crea para esta ocasión una composición musical para viento, cuerda y percusión, interpretando bajo su dirección por músicos provenientes de diversas orquestas, entre la que destaca la Real Orquesta Sinfónica de Sevilla.
